"It's getting so much nicer out here."
"Thank God, that was such a long winter."
Isaac was still for a second, trying to place the voices, before he remembered where he was.
"Look who's awake." Draco smirked in his direction.
Peachexs turned to look at him, as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes.
"Well, goodmorning." she said, cheerfully.
"Mm, and he lasted his first night on the street." Draco drawled, "You're rock hard now."
"Too bad he's going home today." Peaches smiled at Ike.
"Too bad?" Draco questioned, "Whatever. I've done my part, Peach, I waited with you now I gotta get outa here." he stood
up, "See you tonight, Peaches. Take care, Ike." he said as he walked away.
Peaches turned to Isaac.
"So, how are things looking from this side of the sunrise?" she asked.
Ike groaned.
"My back hurts."
"Not use to concrete."
He smiled, wearily.
"I think I owe you a lot, you've convinced me to go home."
She grinned.
"Come with me." he said quickly, before he lost the nerve. "I could take care of you 'til you got back on your feet. Peaches,
you deserve a home."
She gave him the most understanding and comforting smile he could have imagined.
"Home is the place where you belong, Isaac. There may not be a roof over my head...but I have a home."
She walked him back to his hotel, with him asking her to reconsider the whole way. But she continued to decline, assuring
him that she was alright where she was.
Outside the building she turned to him, smiled, and took his hand in her own.
"Keep it in the spectrum." she said and squeezed his hand.
"Thank you so much..Matti." he said as she took a few steps backwards before waving one last time, turning, and bolting
across the busy streets.
He watched her go then looked up at the building and took a deep breath. He smiled, thinking of the family he was going
back to, and Peaches--who didn't even know where she'd be tomorrow, and he walked inside, whispering a thank you to God for
sending his messenger to wake him up.
