I didn't think I'd miss you
In fact, there were times
when I felt I would be glad to go
Cause I didn't think I'd miss the tears
the confusion
And always walking away
Unsatisfied
But I was wrong
I miss having you around
when you would smile
and your great big hands
were always so warm
And you always wore those glasses
they gave you that edge
and you'd lower them
to look over the tops at me
with deep brown eyes
That could see right into my soul
And I miss how you'd just slap me on the knee
and say something inappropriate
Just cause you had it to say
And I miss when you'd play your guitar
the first two bars of every song
and the rest was up to us
And I miss sitting across from you
in the hall
and we'd throw things at each other
while you did everyone else's math homework
and you'd try to play my flute
I miss how you'd mess with my hair
and make me feel alright
when you saw past the forced smiles
and the fake laughter
tell me I didn't have to pretend
I miss how you use to immitate me
Making fun of all the little things I do
But it would only bring us closer together
I miss that
